A soldier since he was 17

A soldier since he was 17, Tim Fochs served 11 years in the Air Force, at Davis Monthan in Tucson, and two tours of duty overseas in Kuwait and Afghanistan. In 2007, he began suffering from a variety of unexplained medical issues, which led to his inability to pass military physical requirements, and eventually to an honorable discharge from service. Devastated, demoralized and disabled, Tim has been unable to work, and stays home caring for his two young daughters. The family’s misfortunes took a turn for the worse when, first, Tim’s truck was involved in an accident, and then his 5-year-old daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy.

Just recently, however, Tim’s mystery illness was finally diagnosed as a rare disease, agromegaly, caused by a brain tumor. He underwent surgery to remove the tumor and while not out of the woods, doctors are optimistic. We hope that by repairing Tim’s truck, this will give the Fochs family not just a much-needed means of transportation, but also a positive lift as Tim and his young daughter continue to cope with their health issues.
